1873 Colt Single Action Army .45 Revolver *Rare* Long Flute 1st Gen SAA 4 3/4" 1915
Description: From my personal collection comes this rare original example of a "long flute" variant Colt Single Action Army made in 1915. Long flute guns only appear within serial numbers 330001-331480 and were the result of a batch of left over Model 1878 Colt Double Action cylinders being discovered in the factory and retrofitted for use with the production Single Action Army. It is estimated that only 1,379 revolvers were made with the long flute cylinder. The pistol remains totally original and quite sharp overall with matching serial number "330392" marked on the frame, backstrap, and triggerguard. The barrel, ejector housing, cylinder, and grip straps show strong traces of original bluing within protected areas with the balance having worn to plum/gray. The frame has a mottled patina with some very faint swirls of case color visible below the cylinder pin. Original hard rubber grips fit perfectly and show heavy wear with no cracks or chips. Initials "BK" are lightly scratched into the butt. Correct original hammer with blued top and polished sides and large blade front sight. Original trigger, cylinder pin, ejector rod, and screws. Clear rampant horse, patent dates, and "45 COLT" barrel markings. The two-line Colt barrel address is a little light but fully legible. Very crisp and strong action with excellent bore showing bright sharp rifling front to back. A really clean original gun that is better than pictured. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. No sales to NYC, Washington DC, or California. No international sales. Payment to be made by check only payable to Greg Schimetschek. Personal checks take 7-10 days to clear before shipment. Three day inspection period without dissasembly, firing, or damage.
