SOLD...Antique Colt single action with letter. Another gun I am selling for my friend. This gun is price on consignment for a quick sell as my friend needs the money to buy some property. Very good deal here !!!! Here is a very nice and untouched Colt SAA. Colt SAA with the standard 4 3/4” barrel. S/N 181943 and made in December 1898. Factory letters all the way. {see photo}... .45 Caliber black powder.. This is a very nice ole colt SA. All matching of course. This Colt just has traces of finish in the protected areas around the trigger guard bow and where the barrel meets the frame. A little on the bottom of the ejector housing. Shows a trace of case colors on the left side of the frame by the hammer in good light. The balance of the gun is a nice and never cleaned on or messed with medium to dark brown patina. Some light surface crud and some very small areas of very light pin prick roughness but nothing bad at all or detracting from the gun. No attempt has been made to clean the gun in any way. Just the way you live to fins these ole Colts. So many have been cleaned and messed with but not this one. The mechanics are excellent of course. Crisp and tight as a new gun. No cylinder play at all and no front to rear or side to side wobble. This gun is rock solid and tight as new. All hammer notches are perfect and positive. Has all 4 positive clicks when cocking and all is correct. Excellent markings throughout. All matching numbers of course. The grips are excellent with no cracks or chips and fit like a glove. No signs of ever being fit to another gun as you see quite often. No numbers on the inside but I quite sure these are the original grips to this gun and this is rare to find these with the original grips as many of you know. Very tight snap on fit and the fit is absolutely perfect... The screw heads are clean and not burred up from being monkeyed with.
