Description:
  This First-Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver is VERY rare in this caliber and additionally so in this beautiful condition. Of the 357,000 + Colt first generation revolvers made, only 1011 (3/10 of a percent) were made in .38 Colt caliber. Of that small number I imagine very few survived in this beautiful condition.    
          The original blue is excellent with just the slightest wear on the high edges of the muzzle and the leading edge of the loading gate tube. The leading edge of the outside of the trigger guard shows slight thinning. The front and backstrap show modest thinning but less than the trigger guard. The Cylinder shows a slight turn line with light thinning between flutes. This thinning / wear is more pronounced on two places as they were the “Downside” in storage. The case color looks new with only the slightest fading. All markings are sharp and clear. The un-numbered hard rubber grips are chip and crack free. They have slightly faded to brown; the color appears much more pronounced in the photos than in person. The bore is bright and sharp with the slightest roughness in the lands. The action is tight and smooth as you would expect.
          This revolver was shipped to Colt’s San Francisco Agency on May 3, 1899 as a 1 of 1 in shipment. Somehow it has been preserved in this beautiful condition for 126 years. The Colt Letter is included with the sale. I know this is a cliché, but it really does look better in hand than in the photos.
Even if you are an advanced Colt SAA Collector, it’s unlikely you will have an example better than this. This is a chance to add a beautiful and rare Colt collection.

          Modern firearms, post 1898, can only be shipped to a Type 01 Federal Firearms License address.
          C&R firearms, over 50 years old, can be shipped to a Type 03 Federal Firearms License address.
A signed valid license copy will be required for shipment to only the license address.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition with no parts exchanged.  If it has been altered, damaged, or fired, a refund will not be made.  Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded.  All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.
 PAYMENT: 
Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 3% processing fee.
SALES TAX: 
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in-state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyers responsibility.
