COLT SAA ARTILLERY MADE 1874
Description:
An intriguing Colt SAA made in 1874 with a SN of 7059, and a U.S. stamped on the left side of the frame. This fine gun has a 5 1/2" Colt Caliber .45 barrel and a clean strong rifled bore with a couple patches of roughness , but very shootable with black powder ammo. The back strap is SN 54611, and trigger guard is 54011, base of the barrel has RAC initials, but can't read any numbers. Nickle finish is about 90%.Gun locks up tight with full notch.Cylinder indexes and locks up tight. Oddly the cylinder pin is the very early type with a hole in front for lubrication, and the the bull-eye ejector rod head. Didn't see a number on the cylinder when it would be on the side, but it's the old style Colt type, SN on back of the cylinder 4059 .The hammer is the correct 1890 type when these cavalry pistols were converted to artillery models. Comes with two piece walnut aged grips. This interesting gun came from Mexico right after WWII, and has been in the collection since then! We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check.
