Description: COLT Single Action Army in .45 LC Revolver w/ TIFFANY GRIP C&R SAA 1912
Iconic Wild West Pre-WWI 6-Shooter!
Here we present a First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .45 Long Colt & with Cast Tiffany Style Grip, manufactured in 1912 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt “Peacemaker” was introduced in 1873 and has become one of the most iconic firearms in all of history, thanks to its widespread use by the U.S. military, civilians and, more recently, in Western films. Total production numbers for the “First Generation” (c. 1873-1940) Colt Single Action Army reached 357,859. These continued to be relied upon as well as “hot-rodded” by the likes of Elmer Keith, Skeeter Skelton, many other lawmen and gun writers of the time.
This revolver has been fitted with Tiffany Style Cast grips. The rest of the revolver was finished in nickel. You couldn’t ask for a better action. All 4 clicks, great lockup. A very functional, very attractive Colt!
The overall condition is fine. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The nickel finish on the frame is reflective and shines nicely in the light. The tiffany style brass cast grips are finely detailed. The grips depict scenes of American conflicts, a panoply of arms, and a federal eagle on the bottom. Here is a First-Generation SAA from the early 20th century that will steal the show!
