This Colt Single Action Army revolver (serial #165880) was originally shipped from the factory August 10, 1896, with nine other guns to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri. It is a ,45 with 4.75” barrel, blue and case, with hard rubber grips. The case colors have faded but there are traces of blue in protected areas like the cylinder flutes. Grips are good and it is mechanically sound with all four clicks, three notches, good lock up and an exceptionally clean bore – no rust or pitting and strong rifling. All numbers match. This Colt has not been abused, scratched or dented, just used well and kept in good using. As an antique, no FFL is required for shipment.
The holster is a vintage Mexican piteada style, finely embroidered (with pita or ixtle fiber from the maguey plant). It is in very good collector condition.
