Manufactured in 1904, serial number 258968, this SAA retains about 45-50% of the original factory finish. Still decent case-color on the frame. Ejection rod housing and grip straps show the most wear. I purchased this gun about 17 years ago from a gentleman in New Mexico. He told me that he had owned a hardware store and that he took this revolver in trade for a water heater from a woman around 1960. He took the gun ‘outback’ and shot it to verify function and never fired it again. To my knowledge that was the last time this gun had been fired. This gun shows evidence of having been stored in a dry, arid environment; there is no pitting or corrosion in the finish. Absent is the crazing and microscopic corrosion that dulls the finish on an item like this in humid environments. The wear on this gun could be described as ‘soft’. Gun wears a 4 ¾-inch barrel. All four clicks present. I believe this gun is wearing the original grips but they are not numbered; they are in excellent condition. All numbers match. Please review the pictures to personally assess condition and contact me with any questions.
