Circa 1876 serial number in the 31xxx range (L.D. inspected) frame and closely numbered to three known Company “G” U.S. Third Cavalry revolvers documented in the National Archives records as shipped back from repairs by Springfield Armory during the 1886 Apache Wars. Correct mixed numbers on back strap and trigger guard normal on the Artillery Model. Excellent overall with much of the original bright case colors and blue. Excellent original grips with the original finish and good “RAC” cartouche with “1903” Artillery era re-issue date. D.F.C. stamp on cylinder for Ordnance Inspector David F. Clark. P proofed 5 ½” barrel with Ordnance D.F.C. Period of use Marbles No. 40 bead front sight. All correct and original as it should be. Superior bore and working order. Really nice condition.
