Description: Ainsworth was a Federal Government inspector. 3900 serial range. Was originally 7-1/2 barrel but was cut to 5-1/2 like most of them at the arsenal. All matching numbers including barrel and cylinder. Nice crisp action. Wood grips show it’s 145 years of rugged use. Good markings. Comes complete with an early government issued Cavalry holster and belt. Nice old Colt that is hard to find in early serial range.
