Colt SAA - Extremely Rare, Scarce 1 of 3 Gold Washed Original Colt Single Action Army Revolver made 1875 in Excellent Condition - Opportunity to acquire a original1875 Colt Single Action Army Revolver that is factory gold washed. Only three factory gold washed original Colt SAA's are recorded to have left the Colt Factory without being engraved. All original revolver, with original factory finish. This one of a kind comes with factory Colt Archieves Letter dated 4/16/2009 listing serial#16437 as Gold Washed, in 45lc, having been shipped to historic Colt Arms Dealer, (One of largest Colt Dealers 1800's) John P. Moores Sons in New York, NY on May 3rd., 1876. Gun was shipped as a display gun. This rare firearm comes with an extremely rare beautiful set of Ivory Ox Head grips with ruby eyes, and a silver ring in the nose on one side, and other side a carved pumus eagle. The original time period grips are a one of a kind, and depict aging consistent with the time period. The Grips are in exceptional condition showing the much desirable age cracks of the old ivory, and have aged with the gun. The Colt letter list stocks not listed, indicating that they were custom. Colt indicates there was only three guns made in gold washed finish with no engraving, 6 shot with 7 1/2 inch barrel. Overall in extremely appealing condition with like new bore, and no noticiable turn line indicating that it was barely ever fired. All visable serial numbers match, including the cylinder. The Gate assembly number is #196. The original factory gold finish has some wearing, which is mostly all from handling, wearing the finish thin in those areas, as depicted in the attached photo array.
