Factory Engraved Colt Single Action Army .45 LC caliber revolver. Made in 1936. .45 LC caliber with 5½” barrel. Beautiful factory engraved gun with blue and case colors. This is a scarce Gough Colt Single Action. William Gough was a Colt factory engraver until 1940. This gun is in excellent original condition, has 97% of original blue. This gun has all of the original case colors. Grips are steer head carved ivories with medallions. The trigger guard and back strap are unnumbered under grips. The very last guns only had the serial number on the frame. On the backstrap inside of grips has assembly number “371”, matching with cylinder. This gun comes with a factory letter confirming the gun to be factory engraved, but it does not mention other features as the records have been lost or destroyed. This gun was once in the collection of the famous Texas collector Robert Howard. Mr. Howard was known for only collecting the best of the best.
