This is possibly, one of the most historic U.S. military Colt single action army revolvers there is, from the early Indian wars, to guarding the gold shipments by train from California, to serving in Cuba and the Philippines. O.W. Ainsworth inspected frame, (#4780), prime Custer range from lot 5, of which most 7th Cavalry revolvers were taken from, as well as the back strap, (#45X0). Ainsworth inspected Cylinder # 7106. Trigger guard #138211 K, barrel # 1127, (Extremely early barrel number," exposed" ahead of the cylinder pin, (See Kopec book pg. 14, for reference). RARE, BLUED frame, done at the Manila arsenal. (See Kopec authentication letter, pg. 2). Good mechanics, excellent bore. This Colt revolver has a LOT, going for it, please read the John Kopec authentication letter that goes with the revolver for all the details.
