HIGH CONDITION SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44-40, 7 1/2”, #347XXX, COLT LETTER, SHIPPED 1925
Description: HIGH CONDITION SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44-40, 7 ½”, #347XXX, COLT FACTORY LETTER, SHIPPED 1925. This is an all matching serial numbered SAA on the frame, trigger guard and back strap (under the grips), both grip panels and cylinder (last two digits on the rear face). Overall retains about all the deep factory blue with only some very light thinning on the front strap and back strap. The ejector housing retains about all the blue as does the barrel with barely a touch of edge wear at the muzzle on the left side. Excellent markings including the iconic “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER .44-40” on the left side of the barrel. The frame shows fine lightly faded case color overall including the recoil shield and loading gate, and fine case color on the hammer sides. The action has the correct four clicks, the bore is minty and even the front of the cylinder retains fine blue indicating that this one was fired little. Screw heads are excellent and retain exc. fire blue. The front sight has not been altered. Grips are excellent. I lettered this one myself recently and all the specs including the grips checked out. The letter indicated this one was sold to “E. D. Everts Hardware Company. Address unavailable.” And shipped to “Simmons Hardware Company, St Louis, Missouri on Sept. 22, 1925. Number of guns in shipment 1.” A classic 101 year old Single Action Army in a great caliber and barrel length is super investment quality condition. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Handgun Caliber: .44-40 Winchester (.44 WCF) Manufacturer: COLT Model: SINGLE ACTION ARMY Serial Number: 347XXX Barrel Length: 7 1/2 Condition: EXCELLENT Bore Condition: EXCELLENT |
