HISTORICAL SINGLE ACTION ARMY WITH CORRECT BARREL STAMPING ON THE LEFT SIDE: "E. de Mex." (Estados de Mexico)
Description: HISTORICAL SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38-40, 4 3/4" WITH CORRECT BARREL STAMPING ON THE LEFT SIDE: "E. de Mex." (Estados de Mexico), #309XXX. There were two shipments of these guns totaling 124 revolvers all in .38-40 with 4 3/4" barrels and so marked that were shipped at this time to Mexico through the M. Hartley Co., New York. This one is identical to one pictured in "A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver" by Graham, Kopec & Moore. Overall, this revolver shows an uncleaned gray patina with good markings and matching numbers, good screw heads and cylinder pin. Action is crisp, grips are fine and fit perfectly, there is a ring about mid way in the barrel, the front sight has not been altered. No doubt a participant in the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1924! I don't believe many of these hard used "E. de Mex." marked Colts have survived to the present time. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: COLT Model: SINGLE ACTION ARMY Serial Number: 309XXX Barrel Length: 4 3/4 Condition: VG |
