Nimschke Shop Engraved Early 3 Digit Colt Single Action Army Revolver - SAA
Description: This is a fantastic Colt Single Action Army. This Colt started it's life and left the factory as a .44 Rimfire. After it was converted to the more readily available .44 centerfire. This Colt just has that Wild West down south look to it, The way the ivory aged and the coloration shows it had been in a dry environment for many, many years. This Single Action Army has a 3 digit serial number. The engraving appears to be from the Nimschke shop rather than just some New York engraver as it is much higher quality then most. The motif on the backstrap and the way it's done is the giveaway. The barrel was cut during the period of use to 5 3/8" and the site was moved back. Mechanically works very well. This is really a fantastic looking Colt Single Action with some fantastic and very appealing engraving, excellent Wild West look and even has a 3 digit serial number!
