RARE Colt Single Action Army, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1876, SN: 32154.W/ Kopeck and Colt Letters
Description: RARE Colt Single Action Army, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1876, SN: 32154, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. The walnut grips are good, displaying good traces of commercially applied varnish finish with minor nicks, edge chipping & dings. There are two deeper scratches at the bottom of the right grip panel. The metal finish has mostly worn to a gun metal gray, with some blue-brown patina in protected areas. The metal surfaces have areas of old rust pitting & speckling. Bore is good, with solid rifling that have darkened amongst some pitting. Matching SN stamped or partial on frame, trigger guard, cylinder & backstrap. Revolver comes with Colt authentication letter dated July 14, 2001 from Kathleen J. Hoyt, Colt Historian. It indicates this revolver was shipped to the famed Schuyler, Hartley & Graham New York, New York on November 28, 1876, in a shipment of 39 guns. It also has a detailed letter from John A Kopec, giving history & condition of this specific revolver. He discusses production issues during the period this pistol was produced & explains the ''C'' stamping above the inspectors mark and what that meant. He discusses the ''Nice original condition'' & what he has observed. This is a very nice example of a colt single action in original condition & with two nice letters.* Antique NO FFL Req Add 3% if paying with credit card.
