Scarce Colt Bisley Frontier Six Shooter in Nickel 44-40 Made 1901 SAA Single Action Army
Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are sure proud to offer this fine example of Colt's Bisley model chambered in 44-40 WCF. This is the only caliber to have a special name on the barrel, and they are red hot when it comes to value. Only 6803 Bisley models were thus chambered, adding to the value. This wheel gun, made in the year of our Lord 1901, is in pretty good condition. I believe it to be an original nickel gun, and she looks good for being 117 years old. You can readily judge the wear and use of a Single Action when the circled rampant colt is present. The fine circle is usually the first thing to wear away from hard use. This gun not only has the full circle, but it is deep and clear. The action works as designed, and is nice and crisp. The bore of the 5 1/2 inch barrel is also good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. The grips are worn, but are intact. If you have been looking for the right first generation SAA to collect or for investment, but want the added clout of a Frontier Six Shooter in a Bisley model, then look no further.
