Colt SAA 2nd Gen Ivory Grips in Original Box .38 Special Single Action Army Second 1957
Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this very fine example of Colt's second go around for the Single Action Army. The 1st generation was discontinued in the 40's, only to find westerns dominating the big and little screens in the 1950's. Colt was missing lots of sales to copies, so they started production again in 1956. This particular wheel gun was made in the year of our Lord 1957. It is fitted with gorgeous one piece ivory grips and is in the original box. She is in wonderful condition for being 63 years old. The blue is deep and lustrous, a little thin around the muzzle. The case color, as only Colt can produce, is a little muted but is more vivid than the photos suggest. The stampings are sharp and clear, and there are only the lightest of handling marks. The bore of the 5 1/2 inch gunfighter length barrel is gleaming, and the action is crisp. Chambered in what was a rare caliber for the first genny guns, the .38 Special, it was one of the few offered for these revolvers. Their value continues to climb, and they pose a great investment. If you have been looking for the right Colt SAA to collect or for investment, but want the added clout of ivory grips and the original box, then look no further.
