Rare Triple CASED set "Signature Series Colts", 3 guns, 2- 1851s and 1- 1849
Description: The tale of the 2nd Generation Colt black powder line actually began in the late 1950s with Val Forgett, founder of Navy Arms, and Italian gunmakers Vittorio Gregorelli and Aldo Uberti. They chose the Colt 1851 Navy as the first percussion revolver to be reproduced in Italy in 1958. After a dozen years and thousands of Colt reproductions, the success of the Italian-made '51 Navy -- which Aldo Uberti frequently supplied to filmmaker Sergio Lione and Clint Eastwood for early spaghetti westerns -- had finally come to the attention of the company that invented it. Colt could never have brought back the 1851 Navy had it not been for Forgett, Uberti. These two, Signature Series Colt 1851 Navy’s and this 1849 Pocket model were produced by Colt and is identical in every respect to the original First Generation gun. I believe they have been fired and well cared for. The three come case in this superbly made triple cased set. The hand grafted case is its self a major feature of this fine set. Colt-style flask is include. The 1851s are .36 cal., 7 1/2" octagon barreled, case-hardened frames, loading levers, plungers, and hammers, silver plated back-straps and round trigger guards, one-piece walnut grips, and blued barrel and cylinder with engraved naval battle scenes on the cylinder. The 1849 pocket model is .31 cal., 4” octagon barreled, case-hardened frame, loading lever, plunger, and hammer, silver plated back-strap and round trigger guard, and one-piece walnut grips, with an engraved Stage Coach hold up scene on the cylinder. These three guns once were in the collection of “Will Ghormley” Master Holster Crafter and Famous Leather Artisan who’s work is often seen on the best big screen productions. Not to mention in my collection for the past 25 years. It is time to pass them on to the next caretaker. Payment: Item, can be ordered on line with a credit card or paypal on our sight.
