VERY VERY RARE 2nd Gen. ("Colt Frontier Six Shooter", ONE of ONLY 2 KNOWN)

Here is more on the 44-40 wcf Colt SAA 2nd Gen..  If memory is correct I purchased it at the Oklahoma City Gun Show from Brian LeBelle, in the late 1970s.
 I wanted it because I had never seen or heard of a 2nd Gen Colt SAA chamber for .44-40. Later I tried to research it and could find no record of a .44-40 in the second gen. As you see in the pictures it is mark “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER” that means it is a .44-40.
Eventually I wrote for a Colt letter and received the one I am including with the gun. That letter states that this gun is a 44 spec.
Well you can shoot .44 spec. ammo in it, but it handles .44-40 just fine and that same ammo works fine in my .44-40 rifles. Then I found this little book which will be included with the Colt. You can see where the author Don Wilkerson says and I quote. "33600SA    Single revolver made in .44-40 caliber. Barrel marked “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER”. "One other revolver is know in .44-40 caliber, but the barrel is marked “ COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 SPECIAL”. Well my assessment is that Colt did produce two .44-40 2nd gen. and they did mark both of them COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER. And I have the second one!!!!.
Also included are the original 2nd gen. grips.
