This is a desirable First Year of Production example for the 3rd Generation run, manufactured in 1978. It features the iconic "flat-top" target frame with adjustable rear target sights and a ramp front sight.

Finish: Vibrant Color Case Hardened Frame with high-polish Royal Blue barrel and cylinder.
Condition: Excellent. The case colors remain vivid with deep blues and teals. The bluing is deep and mirror-like.

Provenance & Accessories: This is a complete "time capsule" package --

Original Colt "wood grain" outer sleeve with matching handwritten serial.
Original Styrofoam clamshell insert with embossed Colt logo.
Original Colt Instruction Manual (Dated 1978—matching the year of manufacture).
End-cap features the Union Made (UAW) gold seal.
