Colt made them equal" and the right side is marked "Colt Single Action Army .44-40 Cal." in gold banners. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard one line address, and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the Rampant Colt and "1 of 1000" in a banner. The back strap is marked with "Col. Sam Colt" signature in gold. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights. Fitted with Rampant Colt/Federal Eagle checkered grips. Complete with velvet lined Colt case and extra fluted cylinder. Also, includes an historic circa 1850 nail in Lucite recovered from the Armorers' residences during the 1981 restoration. .44-40 Winchester
