Colt. Model 3 ½” round barrel

Description:
Colt. Model 3 ½” round barrel w/o ejector. Cal. 38 CF. Manufactured 1873 to 1880. About 3500 made as original cartridge gun. 38 rim fire and 38 CF 5 shot cylinder. The 3 ½” round barrel was manufactured specifically for this model, and was not altered from the percussion. Cylinder roll scene of the stagecoach holdup. Barrel has a bright excellent bore that retains 90% original blue. Cylinder has toned primarily to a pewter grey with traces of blue on the rebated section. The frame retains 95% original color case hardening. Hammer as well retain excellent color. Trigger guard has 90% original silver plate. The back strap has nearly all its silver plate. The smooth Walnut one piece grip rates very fine with nearly all the original varnish, The grip is numbered to the gun on the inside. Mechanically excellent. A very fine to excellent example of these Colt cartridge converted revolvers. Serial # 309877.
