This all numbers matching 1901 vintage Colt Single Action Army, is fitted with a 4 3/4 inch barrel with 2-line address, original black checkered hard rubber grips. This Colt is an early smokeless powder variation, originally finished in blue with color case-hardened frame, and chambered in .41 Colt. The gun is in excellent original, used but not abused, condition. The barrel retains about 70% of its original blue finish, the ejector rod housing about 50%, the cylinder 70% with nice clean chambers, and the back-strap and trigger guard about 50% with thinning on the front and back straps. The frame retains approximately 50% of its original color case-hardened finish. The bore is bright with strong rifling with some minor corrosion throughout. The action functions perfectly, with a tight lock-up. The original grips fit very well, with sharp checkering and minimal handling marks. This revolver comes with a factory letter indicating that it was shipped to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis Missouri, November 30, 1901. All Features of this Colt are as they were when shipped according to the factory letter. A very nice 1st Generation Colt Single Action.
