Description:
A nice original Colt Artillery model which is basically the US Cavalry model that went back to Springfield Armory or Colt for conversion & rebuilding to a 5.5 inch version and then reissued. Serial number 8443. This revolver was originally shipped in 1874 and issued to the 8th Cavalry which saw service in the Indian Wars in the SouthWest. It then was turned in and modified to an Artillery model and then reissued and we are told it went to Cuba with a trooper during the Spanish American War (Roosevelt's Rough RIders). The revolver is original, in good condition, and no doubt deserves more research.
