EARLY ORIGINAL COLT BLACK POWDER .44 HENRY RIMFIRE CAL. SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER CIRCA 1875. 100% original including all the screws. Rare 7 ½” barrel with equally rare italic barrel address and ejector rod with the early “Donut” head. Serial number 649 and having all matching numbers. Two line 1871 and 1872 patent dates on left side of frame and trigger guard stamped at left rear “44 cal”. Hammer mortice stamped with a small letter “C” below the firing pin slot. Originally factory nickel plated with only traces remaining with the balance a dark patina. Original ivory grips (ESA exempt-over 100 years old). Working order and reasonably good bore for one of these. Very colorful and honest early example with desirable 7 ½” barrel with early address. Many of these went to the West and to Mexico where the Henry and the Winchester Model 1866 were prevalent. Most examples are seen with shortened barrels and the 7 ½” original barrel on one of these is rare in itself. Factory letter on order.
