Description:
1923 Colt SAA chambered in 38/40 with a 5.5 inch barrel and blue/color cased finish. Per the included Colt archive letter it was shipped May 22, 1923 to Minneopolis, MN. This is a collector grade gun. All numbers match on the frame, grip frame, cylinder, and grips. The original bluing still retains all of its deep dark shine throughout and the color casing is very strong. The front and back strap of the grip frame is exceptional with no wear. The cylinder shows very light rotation lines. There is just a hint of silvering at the tip of the ejector rod head. Outside of that there is no handling to speak of. Overall the finish rates 99%. The cylinder face is very clean. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. All four clicks are crisp and the lock up is tight. The grips are exceptional with sharp checkers throughout. This single action just turned 100 years old. Upgrading it will be a tough task.
