FACTORY Letter Antique COLT ARTILLERY US Model SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver Spanish-American War Period SAA!
Description: FACTORY Letter Antique COLT ARTILLERY US Model SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver Spanish-American War Period SAA! Here we present an antique Colt Single Action Army Revolver Artillery Model, with the frame made in 1887. The Colt Single Action Army, or SAA, is a classic “six-shooter” that is a worldwide icon of the United States of America and the Western Frontier. Wielded by both the worst of men and the best. The famous Single Action Army is also known as the “Peacemaker.” Introduced in 1873, the basic design remained with a few interruptions, in production and is still manufactured today by Colt and other companies. The Artillery or Springfield Armory Model of the SAA is a period (1895-1903) armory or factory refinished gun to extend U.S. military service. U.S. military SAAs are among the most sought after historic sidearms of the era, having been used in action during the Indian Wars and in the Spanish-American War and the Philippine-American War by the U.S. Army. They were originally issued with 7½" barrels in .45 Colt. The left side of the frame is marked “US”. The factory letter lists the frame number in a shipment of 300 guns sent to the U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant on February 17, 1887. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is bright. The grips are solid though a little shy to the frame. A fantastic piece of functional history! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4-3/4 inches. Caliber: .45 Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $4475 #20803 SOLD Antique: Yes |
