Rare Relic Colt .45 - single action- 1874-1st Gen -Serial #10931 -matching numbers
Description:
Rare Relic Colt, single action - 1874 - 1st. generation, serial number 10931, all matching numbers .45 long colt black powder cartridge, 7 1/2 barrel, one piece walnut grips. Grips are old, but may have been replaced.
Providence: Purchased several years ago from an individual in Kentucky. (Since deceased) He and a friend on a deer hunting trip in the early 1950s found the revolver wedged in logs and motor in an old cabin they were camping in. He took the gun home and cleaned it up to some degree. The revolver is heavily pitted as you can see in the photos. I "cannot guarantee", but he said he fired an old black powered long Colt cartridge through it, and nothing happened to the revolver. Again, no guarrantees on the validity of his claim. The old gun Cocks two notches back and fires. (Will need adjusting). No push string to rotate the cylinder. Of course the barrel and cylinder have rust. Loading gate seems to work well. Serial number above trigger guard is strong and on the grip frame. Very faint numbers on trigger guard except first number "1" which is strong. No lettering on barrel top or on left side of frame. Please Note: this old Colt, single action is being sold As-Is. A Relic wall hanger to display. Absolutely no guarantees about firing ability. All sales are final. A great historical item.
