Texas Shipped, Colt Single Action Army .45, Pearl Grips, Nickel Letter Austin
Description: This old Colt has character plus. The untouched, dirty nickel finish and pearl grips give it the look of the old west. Confirmed by the accompanying factory letter, serial number 237183 is a .45 caliber with a 4 3/4” barrel and factory nickel finish shipped to Walter Tips in Austin, Texas on September 26, 1903 in a shipment of 5 guns. Walter Tips supplied guns to many well known Texas Rangers, cowboys and ranchers. The pearl grips aren’t listed on the factory letter but are the correct style and fit very well. These grips are extra thick and have great fire and iridescence. There is a small chip on the left grip at the rear corner and a larger chip on the right grip at the rear. There is a significant amount of the original factory applied nickel finish remaining throughout the gun. The factory applied markings are sharp and legible while blending in with the aged nickel. The action functions properly and the bore is very good. These old Texas shipped Colts are getting hard to find. Free, Insured Shipping direct to your FFL or C&R. More photos can be provided upon request. Please email any questions to kcathlina at aol.
