1896 Antique COLT Model 1877 THUNDERER .41 Long Colt Double Action REVOLVER Hartford, Connecticut Manufactured Double Action Revolver Made in 1896
Description: 1896 Antique COLT Model 1877 THUNDERER .41 Long Colt Double Action REVOLVER Hartford, Connecticut Manufactured Double Action Revolver Made in 1896 Here we present an Antique Colt M1877 “Thunderer” Revolver manufactured in 1896 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Model 1877 was offered in three different calibers, which led to the three unofficial names. The “Lightning” which was chambered in .38 Long Colt. The “Thunderer” which was chambered in .41 Colt. And, the “Rainmaker” which was chambered in .32 Colt. Neither "Lightning" nor "Thunderer" were Colt designations, and were not used by the factory in any reference materials. Both terms were coined by Benjamin Kittredge, one of Colt's major distributors. Kittredge was responsible for the term "Peacemaker" for the Colt Single Action Army. The 1877 "Thunderer" in .41 caliber was the preferred weapon of Billy the Kid and was his weapon of choice when he was killed by Pat Garrett in 1881. This revolver has been there and done that! You can see traces of the original nickel finish, which are enveloped by a dark patina. This piece saw a lot of use. The action is strong in both double and single. The bore is in good shape. All markings are legible and the numbers match. Both grips are firm with expected handling wear. A well-loved Colt Thunderer! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4-1/2 inches. Caliber: .41 Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1685 #201365 SOLD Antique: Yes |
