Made in 1964 In it's own beautiful, walnut, presentation box. Metal engraved plate on top. It does have a few blemishes on the plate, but totally readable and in good shape for its age.
There were 4750 plain guns made of these, only 200 of this deluxe factory engraved model, and the higher grade, Special Deluxe, had only 50 of them made. I had a chance to buy one in 1964, for sale at 1000.00, but being in the military at the time, I could not afford it. This is first of this model I have seen for sale and the first one I have ever seen. Is a consignment.
Price seems fair for a 2nd gen factory engraved Colt, much less a 1 of 200.
Owner says he will take in a NRA 7 1/2 in .45 or a 4 3/4 in Fronteir Six Shooter at full retail,
