Early Vintage Wesson Model 15 .357 Revolver 8” Barrel C.1975-76
Description: Early Vintage Wesson Model 15 .357 Revolver 8” Barrel Just acquired and offered as a spring “special” this month is this fine vintage Dan Wesson Model 15 target revolver with DESIRABLE 8” BARREL. The Dan Wesson Model 15 .357 Magnum with an 8-inch barrel is a highly respected revolver among collectors and shooters. The Model 15 was one of the revolvers that established Dan Wesson's reputation for exceptional accuracy and innovative design. It featured the company's famous interchangeable barrel system, allowing owners to change barrel lengths with simple tools. This specimen, serial number, 90608, falls within the early Monson, Massachusetts production period. Based on known serial-number ranges and registry data, it was most likely manufactured around 1975–1976. Dan Wesson Arms was founded in 1968 by Daniel B. Wesson II, the great-grandson of the co-founder of Smith & Wesson. The company introduced its first revolvers in 1970 and refined them into the Model 15 series in 1971. The Model 15 featured adjustable sights and quickly became known for outstanding accuracy. A key feature was designer Karl Lewis's tensioned-barrel system. Unlike conventional revolvers, the barrel was enclosed in a shroud and tensioned by a nut at the muzzle. This design reduced barrel vibration and often produced accuracy rivaling custom target revolvers. This early Monson, Massachusetts production revolver has all of its original blued finish , correct Dan Wesson grips, matching barrel shroud and barrel assembly. Many enthusiasts consider the Monson-made Model 15 revolvers to be the finest revolvers Dan Wesson ever produced. The revolvers shows very little if any use and would be near 100% had not it be stored “out of box” (not included) and it picked up a small patch of rust adjacentg to end of muzzle left side. We have cleaned it with the result a tiny spot of “pin-prick” pitting -smooth to the touch. Nonetheless, this is an extremely fine revolver which would make an excellent arm for the avid target shooting enthusiast- especially with its 8” barrel. It also remains a very collectible specimen as well. Shipping is approximately $42 however final shipping amount is based upon geographical area. Handling is $18.00 for longarms only.
