Enfield No. 2 Mk 1* Revolver Chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson Caliber **Unique Piece of Military History**

Description:
Here we have a British Enfield No. 2 Mk1* military revolver chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson serial no. ZP1569. The Enfield No. 2 was a British top-break revolver using the .38 S&W round manufactured from 1930 to 1957. It was the standard British/Commonwealth sidearm in the Second World War, alongside the Webley Mk IV and Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolvers chambered in the same calibre. The .38 S&W, also commonly known as .38 S&W Short (it is sometimes referred to as .38 S&W Short to differentiate it from .38 Long Colt and .38 Special), 9×20mmR, .38 Colt NP (New Police), or .38/200, is a revolver cartridge developed by Smith & Wesson in 1877. The original Mk 1 had a full hammer spur whereas the Mk 1* had a spurless hammer and was double action only. This particular example is in fair condition with obvious signs of hard use and high edge wear. The Mk 1* models had plastic handgrips which were redesigned to improve grip when used in rapid double-action fire; the new handgrip design was given the designation Mk II. It's a very cool firearm that would make a great addition to a collection of militaria.
