For your consideration, an Enfield No. 2 MK I* revolver chambered in .380/200 aka .38 S&W (not .38 Special). The cylinder and barrel assembly share a serial number, however the frame bears a different serial number. Accordingly, this piece features a mix of early and later production features. The front sight is of the original, full length blade type calibrated for the original Mk. I and Mk. Iz loadings instead of the later, abbreviated blade calibrated to the subsequent Mk IIz jacketed loading. The hammer seems to be an original MK I DA/SA hammer which has had its spur shaved to MK I* profile, as it can still be cocked single action. This is to be expected, as many MK I's were converted to Mk I* during factory repair, as stipulated by the change order that created the Mk I*. .380/200 SAA Ball
