1954 Mfg. Great Western Arms SAA in .357 Atomic, 7.5 “ Matching. Trades Welcome.
Description: 1954 Early Production Great Western Arms Single Action Army wearing a 7.5" inch Blued barrel and chambered in .357 Atomic! Colt ceased production of the venerable SAA Colt model in 1940 to tool up for the WWII Conflict. After the war ended a Hugh Old West wave swept the country in serial westerns on TV and in the movies in theaters. Great Western Arms was born and stepped in to fill the void for America's lust for the 1973 Colt SAA. Great Western Arms produced high quality revolvers from 1954 until pulling the plug in 1964. Colt realized they were missing revenue in sales then started producing the second generation SAA in 1956 , spelling an end to GW market share and their demise. .The .357 Atomic was a proprietary cartridge that was a .357 mag with a slightly lengthened case. This model fires the standard .357 mag cartridge safely. The gun is blued with case colored frame wearing faux stag factory grips. The condition rates very good to fine with no indication of wear on revolver. Original finish remains at 97% with trigger guard turned plum. Ten Below Firearms also has .45 Colt and .44 Special chambered Great Western Arms Revolvers listed for sale on this site. Add 3% if paying with credit card. Free shipping for all US Veterans.
