Serial number 96 Bbl, 7 1/2" Cal, .44 Lip Fire Mfg, circa early 1960. Considered a Martial revolver by most collectors being the early 44 Lip Fire with a very limited production estimated at 250. The Lip Fire production was ceased after the suit from Smith & Wesson over the Rollin White Patent infringement. Part round barrel with Allen & Wheelock address on left barrel flat. 6 shot non-fluted cylinder with tilting loading gate on right side of recoil shield. Serial numbered in batches under grip, cylinder and loading gate. as well as both grips. This example was later converted to 44 center Fire with a rebounding center fire firing pin. Condition, Very good with having been cleaned bright with age.Action operates properly and locks solidly. Grips are good with bruises and impressions. A very scarce American revolver.ANTIQUE
