BEAUMONT, TEXAS Shipped .45 COLT BISLEY SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver C&R SAA Shipped 1905 Per the Factory Archive Letter
Description: BEAUMONT, TEXAS Shipped .45 COLT BISLEY SINGLE ACTION ARMY Revolver C&R SAA Shipped 1905 Per the Factory Archive Letter Here we present a C&R Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver in .45 Long Colt, manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut in 1905. The factory archive letter details the proper barrel length and cartridge chambering as well as the destination of the shipment of 5 guns total to the E.L. Wilson Hardware Company in Beaumont, Texas on July 26, 1905. Beaumont is east of Houston and on the border with Louisiana. Beaumont was founded circa 1838 and oil was discovered at Spindletop in 1901. Oil was found in such quantity here (the initial geyser was some 150 feet tall, producing about 100,000 barrels a day, and was the most powerful in the world to that time) that it changed the use of oil from simply a lubricant and fuel for lighting to a fuel for powering all sorts of things. This is a great example of the Bisley variant of the Colt Single Action Army revolver. The primary differences were a lower hammer spur and a more curvaceous grip frame. These were optimized toward target shooting but many general users and shooters who were not simply target shooters preferred them as well. The overall condition is fine. Nicely refinished. The action is excellent with all 4 clicks. It holds the safety-, half-, and full-cock notches. Cylinder index and lockup are excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The numbers match. The rampant Colt trademarked hard rubber grips are in fine shape. A great six-shooter out of Texas! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 5-1/2 inches. Caliber: .45 Long Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $4725 #220397 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
