C&R SMITH & WESSON .32 4th Model Revolver
Description:
C&R SMITH & WESSON .32 4th Model Revolver
Turn of the Century .32 S&W Top Break Revolver
Here we present a Smith & Wesson Double Action Revolver in .32 S&W, made at the turn of the Century in Springfield, Massachusetts. The 4th model was made between 1883 and 1909 with a total of roughly 240,000 revolvers made. The fourth model ran from serial number 43,406 and continued to about 282,999. Improvements in the 4th model were in the trigger guard, and internal changes in the shape of the sear and the cylinder stop. At the end of the 4th model production about 10,000 guns of the 5th model used some parts from both. Additional barrel lengths of 8″ and 10″ were offered and sold. This would have been a nice gun to wear in a small belt holster or slip into a pocket for self-defense. Smith & Wesson, then as now, were known for their high quality revolvers.
The overall condition is fine. 85% of the original nickel finish remains. The markings are clear and legible. The hard rubber grips are in good shape. The bore is clear with strong rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
