Guns International #: 101256498
Seller's Inventory #: AH5065
European Copy of a 1st Model Smith & Wesson .44 Caliber Revolver. Smith & Wesson double action revolver has a different break opener, Pryse type lever opener, on the left side of the frame. We do not know the manufacturer although the monogram in the grips could be a clue. Bore has good rifling and is fair to good. The double and single action operations work perfectly. The cylinder chambers are bored straight through and are approximately .50 caliber. Barrel length is 5 ¾” and is 10 ½” overall length. Gun is factory engraved with foliate motif. This revolver is possibly Spanish and we do not think it is Belgian for lack of the usual prolific Belgian proofs. This is antique prior to 1898.
