Description: HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON “THE AMERICAN” 1ST MODEL .38 S&W 5 SHOT REVOLVER H&R .38 S&W Double Action Top Break 1st Model 2nd variation Revolver This is a very rare 1st model , 2nd variation, produced for only 10 years from 1888-1897. Serial number 812 RARE ANTIQUE nice collectable Harrington & Richardson 1st model 2nd variation large frame Revolver 5 shot in .38 S&W Nickel finish , Nickel trigger guard attached with thru pin in the front and rear. Pull pin cylinder. Blade front sight and brass escutcheons on the grips. These were made for black powder cartridges. Top of Barrel marked: THE AMERICAN DOUBLE ACTION Condition: 2 ½” octagon barrel with a bore , light spot pitting and still showing very nice strong rifling. The metal surfaces still retain most of the original nickel plate with some very light scratches , oxidation, freckling, and minor handling marks . Please judge from the photos. The original brown checkered hard rubber grips rate excellent . Lock-up and timing appear to be good with small cylinder play. . Mechanically works excellent in double and single action. This firearm is an antique and NO FFL is required.
