HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON Auto-Ejecting TOP BREAK .38 Caliber DA Revolver C&R Early 20th Century CONCEAL & CARRY Revolver
Description: HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON Auto-Ejecting TOP BREAK .38 Caliber DA Revolver C&R
Early 20th Century CONCEAL & CARRY Revolver
Here we present a C&R Harrington & Richardson Third Variation Auto Ejecting Double Action Top Break Revolver, made circa 1931-1941 in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 1875 Gilbert Harrington and former Frank Wesson employee, William Augustus Richardson, formed the new Harrington & Richardson Company. In 1888 the firm was incorporated as The Harrington & Richardson Arms Company. Their original capital investment was $75,000. Harrington was president, Richardson was treasurer, and George F. Brooks was secretary. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense. It is chambered for 5 shots of .38 S&W, making it a small, concealable and effective self-defense revolver. The “jazz age” was filled with gangsters and career thugs. Here we have a great example of a self-defense revolver that would have helped fend off those criminals!
This little five-shot revolver came with an auto-ejecting mechanism, hard rubber grips, a nickel finish, and barrel lengths of 2-1/2, 3-1/4 (standard), and 4, 5, & 6 inch barrels available. The top of the barrel markings includes the company name and address, and the early production guns also included the patent dates.
The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Original finish. Bright, nicely rifled bore. Both grips are in good shape with less than average handling. Sharp marking. Numbers match.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
Barrel is 4 inches.
Caliber: .38 S&W
Overall condition as seen in photos.
