Here Ancestry Guns presents a C&R Harrington & Richardson “Premier .22” Revolver in .22 caliber rimfire, made circa 1905 to 1941 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The H&R Premier was manufactured between 1895 and 1941. The first model (1895-1904) was designed for black powder cartridges, and the second model (1905-1941) was designed for smokeless powder. The identifier showing this is the 1st model is the name and patent information on located on the top of the barrel, whereas on the 2nd model the name and caliber were both marked on the side of the barrel.
This was one of H&R’s small-frame, top-break, auto-ejecting revolvers designed to be a sleek, modern, and affordable self-defense sidearm for the early 20th Century citizen. This little conceal and carry revolver chambers 7 rounds and is much harder to find than the larger calibers in this model.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Excellent action. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Fine grips. Markings are clear and legible. Numbers match.
