Serial #D4947, .22 LR, 6 solid ribbed barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is an early second model Harrington & Richardson Model 999 revolver manufactured in 1933 having a flat hammer with the firing pin on the frame and Patent number on the cylinder. The matte rib is marked "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO. / WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A." with "H & R SPORTSMAN" on the left and "22 LONG RIFLE CTG." on the right. In excellent condition the birds's head grip frame or "Rice Frame" frame, top break revolver retains virtually all, 98-99% original blue finish with very tiny pinprick pitting through the blue visible under magnification. The one piece checkered walnut stock is excellent with a tiny chip at the bottom and some handling and use marks. The lock up is tight and it functions properly in both double and single action. An excellent example of this very early second variation of the classic Model 999 Sportsman revolver. FFL or C&R
