Antique Hopkins & Allen “Buckeye" Engraved Presentation Revolver 32 RF
Description:
Serial #6096, .32 Rim Fire, 2 ¾ inch octagonal barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling and several areas of roughness. This is the “Buckeye" revolver manufactured by Hopkins and Allen with only the patent dates “PAT. MCH 29, 71 MAY 27, 79" and name on the barrel. Manufactured prior to 1884, the year that caliber was discontinued form this line of revolver, this high grade presentation example features enamel highlighted engraving, case colored hammer and trigger along with fancy green “Malachite" celluloid grips. The gun is in excellent condition retaining about 95-98% of the original bright nickel finish with some tiny spots of flaking mostly on the cylinder. The celluloid grips have shrunk over time leaving a slight consistent gap near the frame with a tight overall fit showing light use and wear marks. Mechanically it functions properly with tight lock up and proper timing. An excellent example of this presentation grade “Buckeye" revolver that would add to any spur trigger collection. Antique
