Description: ANTIQUE Very rare Iver Johnson American Bulldog Second Model .44 S&W Revolver Manufacturer: Iver Johnson Model: American Bulldog Serial Number: 7 Production Years: 1887 - 1899 Description: The Iver Johnson American Bulldog is a classic pocket revolver known for its reliability. This particular model is a 5-shot, Ex.large frame, Very Rare blued finish , loading gate, with a 6” barrel chambered in .44 S&W. It is characterized by its very good condition for it’s age. Condition: The revolver is equipped with a 5 15/16” octagon barrel. The bore is very good with a couple of minor spots of pin-prick pitting from blackpowder use indicating minimal wear with very strong rifling. The extra large frame finish is missing most of the original blue and the remaining metal is turning to a nice antique gun-metal grey. There are some slight scratches and handling marks. The original black hard rubber grips with the Bull Dog logo are in very good condition with a very small chip repair done to the bottom of one grip. The frame , barrel and cylinder all have matching serial numbers with all barrel markings clear and legible. A small custom case is included for displaying this collectible revolver. The action of the revolver functions well mechanically In single and double action. Has good timing and just a tiny bit of cylinder play at lock-up. current condition of the item listed has been described to the best of my ability .
