Rare Antique Iver Johnson "SMOKER" .38RF spur trigger revolver

Rare complete all original Iver Johnson  “Smoker”   Model  —  spur trigger revolver. — 5 Shot , 2 ½” barrel , Birds head grip ,  .38 Rim Fire
Manufactured from 1875 - 1900,    Low Serial #1254
Top of Barrel reads:  
SMOKER
Receiver marked: 
38 CAL

Mechanical Function:
2 ½” Round barrel with a good bore showing some minor spot pitting from black powder use and light oxidation.  Bore still retains very strong rifling. The metal surfaces retain about 95% of the original nickel finish with scattered handling marks and some very fine surface pitting.  The original smooth Walnut bird’s head grips are in excellent condition for It’s age with just minor handling marks. Barrel and Receiver markings are clear and legible. 
The action of the revolver needs attention ,  if one were attempt to fire this antique.  This is more of a collector item .  The trigger need a return spring and the cylinder hand needs a spring as well.  You can get the hammer to hold by pushing forward on the trigger until the sear engages.  The cylinder doesn't engage without the cylinder hand spring.
