Description: Rare nice looking Iver Johnson 2nd model 5th variation .32 Top Break small frame revolver. ** C&R OK ** (Needs repair, double action only) Iver Johnson 2nd Model small frame .32 S&W short , top break revolver. This particular model, serial number P32693, was produced 1906. Small frame revolver Top break Nickel finish Matching numbers Double top post barrel latch 3” barrel auto shell ejecting .32 S&W 5 shot These were made for black powder cartridges. Condition: 3” raised rib barrel with a nice bore showing very minor spot pitting from black powder use and still retains very good rifling. The metal of the revolver still retains about 95% of its original nickel finish and is in excellent condition, with only minor handling marks and some light oxidation. The original owl monogramed black checkered hard rubber grips are in very good condition with only minor wear, and the top-strap markings remain very crisp and legible. It has tight lock-up, good timing . Mechanically the action functions normally in double action but will not hold in single action. Probably missing a trigger sear spring. Not safe to use in single action. The hammer when pulled back will not hold and if released will fall and discharge that loaded cylinder. Despite its age, this revolver is in nice looking condition and has been well-maintained. It would make addition to any antique firearm collection or for those who appreciate a classic piece of history.
