Marlin Model 1872 XXX Standard Revolver, Nicely Restored
Description: Antique Pre-1898 Marlin XXX Standard 1872 Revolver. Made 1873-1887 by J.M. Marlin in New Haven Connecticut to go up against the Remington Smoot, Colt New Line Pocket, and Smith and Wesson 1 1/2 Single Actions during the 1870's and 1880's. Caliber is .30 Rimfire. This one was nicely restored by someone who was pretty talented. It has 100% of its re-nickel plating with very good polish work by someone who didn't round over the edges and lines with a buffing wheel. Hammer is nicely bone charcoal case colored while the trigger, screws, and ejector rod are nicely nitre blued. The grips were not redone and still show about 80% original varnish. Nice markings on the left side of the barrel and top rib. Should display quite well and it's quite a piece of eye candy. You don't find many restorations of these early cartridge revolvers as the time and money to do this kind of work almost always exceeds the value of the gun itself. Antique, Pre-1898. No FFL Required. No sales to NJ, DC, NYC, Chicago, or HI. $20.00 shippin in lower US 48. Buyer must be 21 years of age and a law-abiding US Citizen. Price: $595.00 Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: .30 RF Manufacturer: JM Marlin Contact Seller |
