SCARCE Antique MARLIN FIREARMS No. 32 Standard 1875 Spur Trigger REVOLVER
WILD WEST Self Defense Concealed Carry!
Description: SCARCE Antique MARLIN FIREARMS No. 32 Standard 1875 Spur Trigger REVOLVER WILD WEST Self Defense Concealed Carry! Here we present an antique Marlin No. .32 Standard 1875 Spur Trigger Pocket Revolver, made circa 1880 in New Haven, Connecticut with a production run from 1875 through 1887. This variant features a round-ribbed barrel and short cylinder flutes with only about 19,500 of these revolvers produced. The revolver bears much resemblance to Smith & Wesson’s pioneer top-hinge cartridge revolvers. During a time when many, if not most people carried a firearm, these affordable little revolvers were small enough to conceal and carry, yet provide some level of protection or peace of mind, even when the town did not allow firearms within its limits. Though this beautiful spur trigger was made 15 years after the close of the Civil War, handguns like this were commonly privately purchased by soldiers for use on the battlefield. Whether legend or fact, it is interesting to note something commonly read about pocket revolvers of the day: that while they could be used for self-defense against the enemy, many soldiers kept them on their person to defend themselves against an unwanted amputation in the primitive field hospitals that were notorious, even in their day. Surgeon Julian John Chisholm in 1864 said it best, “The limbs of soldiers are in as much danger from the ardor of young surgeons as from the missiles of the enemy.” The overall condition is good. Strong action. Original nickel finish. Legible markings. Good, dark bore. Both grips are in good shape with an average amount of handling. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $900 #217801 SOLD Antique: Yes |
